How to Apply

Information Sessions

Looking for more information? As you consider applying to teachNOLA, we encourage you to attend one of our regularly-scheduled Information Sessions. Although not required for the application process, Information Sessions give candidates a chance to learn more about this rare opportunity to be an agent of educational reform.

Information Sessions are particularly useful for those who have general questions about the program or for those who may be unsure about applying. If you are interested in participating, we ask that you read this website carefully before attending to familiarize yourself with the basic components of the program.

The format of an Information Session includes a brief overview of the program, a question & answer period with a teachNOLA staff member, and when possible, presentations by current, experienced New Orleans teacher(s) or school administrator(s) and other experts on post-Katrina New Orleans. Information Sessions usually last for about one hour. Information Sessions usually last about an hour and will take place at different times and locations as well as via conference call throughout our recruitment season.

Please note that due to limited capacity, teachNOLA is unable to guarantee that all candidates will have the opportunity to attend an Information Session. Therefore, we encourage interested individuals to sign up early. If space is not currently available, please be patient and check back often for newly-scheduled dates.

We will begin scheduling Information Sessions for prospective candidates to attend next fall, when our new application becomes available. To sign up for a session, you will need to create an account by clicking "Apply Now." Once your account has been created, you can sign up for Information Sessions under "Event Signup."
